About Me— Elias Nethilavulu
Born and raised in two different worlds
The name is Elias Netshilavulu—can you spell my surname? Hope not, but if it wasn’t for our demographics, I would love to teach you how to.
I am what others like to call a home away fugitive. I was born in Zimbabwe and got raised in South Africa— I’m South African by Identity and a Zimbabwean by blood. A young man of 28. I smoke like I’ve got three dead sons and six grandchildren. My whole life I had been the cool doodle. Quite as a mouse. We get to know each other yet? I guess we are.
I miss my school days. There was a mixture of fun and boredom. I remember walking to school five miles, with my bare feets stumping the ground— for a year or two maybe. Old days right? Old by years Yes, not by memory.
I’ve never been the type to write about myself or my experiences, that way you’ll forgive the expression through my language. But I’ve been the book worm type, and still are today. I Fell in love with ‘rap’ and wrote some lyrics before I quit it for poetry.
My favourite ‘rap' artists are Eminem, Canibus, hymphatic Tabs and many more — those twisted ones, not these nowadays commercial typos.
My favourite poets are W. B Yeats and some I cannot remember at the moment. I love art, not just any art but pure art—if…
