About Me – Elizabeth Barnesco
My Third Act – Year 61 and beyond – will be all about me…
I’m Elizabeth Barnesco, an Old Babe In Transition. I’m married to a Dead Guy, not widowed, since February 22 2021. I live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, with my grown son and two elderly dogs. I’ve earned a living since 1977 as an accounting clerk, specializing in payroll, and I’m still employed but ‘on Leave’ as a Payroll Specialist.
I came to Medium primarily as a reader.
My son steered me here, since his girlfriend is sister to the illustrious . I had heard of Medium and seen occasional articles via Facebook, but had never explored. I loved the platform and joined right away. I especially liked the ‘rabbit warren’ way one article leads to O-so-many others. The variety of writers, of topics, the honesty and brutal sharing thrilled me.
Over the years, at my day job, so many times someone has said, “You should be a writer!” I would respond, “I am a writer. I’m a poet, and I’ve got a few started-but-paused YA novels. I just don’t spend enough time at it, but one of these days…”
