That’s German for “Good day” or “hello” or whatever. I’m Emilia Jade Smith and I am a bilingual European currently living in Germany. I’m so pleased you found me, it’s really quite the jungle out there.
Please just call me Emmi.
I’m your average European woman in her thirties, and not many would believe what is lurking under the surface. I’ve been suffering from chronic and treatment-resistant depression ever since I can remember. My content is as raw and unfiltered as it gets, and I am putting myself out there, way way waaaay beyond my comfort zone.
More people need to know about depression and what havoc it can wreak on one’s life. I wish it hadn’t been my life, but at least I can share a firsthand experience. I hope to be able to help people with and without depression. Despite all progress in recent years, this mental illness is still greatly stigmatized and I feel a responsibility to put in whatever effort it takes to normalize talking about it.
