Introduction

Hello! My name’s Emma and I’m a twenty-six-year-old writer. I’m a huge bookworm, David Attenborough’s number one fan, and I will geek out over any dog I see on the street.

I graduated from university with a degree in War Studies, and have worked in numerous jobs since including being a librarian and working in the TV and film industry.

I’ve been writing on Medium since October 2021, but only recently became a full-time freelance writer as of February 2022. Big leaps, but exciting ones! On Medium, I write mostly about books, video games, entertainment, and lifestyle.

I used to always say I was a reader, not a writer — truthfully, I was just shy and never thought I could put my work out there. It’s still scary, but my confidence is growing each day. My grandma inspired me tremendously (and continues to do so), and quitting my job was definitely the most reckless and brave thing I’ve ever done. But it was absolutely the right decision, and I don’t regret it one bit.

I live in England and spend my days writing, reading, playing video games, watching TV, and enjoying the sunshine (whenever it appears in the UK!). When I’m not writing on Medium, I work on writing content and proofreading for…
