About Me — Eva Tomas Casado
Futurist. Writer. Digital Immigrant. Loud Thinker. And the star of my own real-life rom-com.
I was a misfit all my life. Don’t get me wrong, not in the sense, that I was a loner, and never had friends. I did. Throughout school and college, I went out with friends, lived in a shared flat, and was surrounded by other people. I called them friends and so did they, but truth to be told — I am not in regular contact with any of them now.
Books and movies were my real friends. I dived in all those magical mystery worlds, where true love and adventure could be found, not like my daily life in the small town where routine was a value on its own.
I lived my life through other people's stories, and I liked it that way. At night I would imagine my own stories — of course, I was the star of all of those.
I was waiting for something exceptional to happen to me. At some point, someone would recognize how special I was, my singing, my writing, my poetry. I was waiting for my moment as I had seen them in the movies so many times.
Guess what — didn’t happen!
I had relationships. Mediocre ones. Not bad — good guys. But not princes in the shining armor. Not “with her the snow was a little bit whiter”-guys. No magic.
