About Me — Felicia Laluki
’Cause, there ain’t no mountain high enough
For as long as I can remember, setting unrealistic goals has always been my thing. When I was six, I ambitiously tried to build a catapult. Later, at eighteen, I applied for my first job with a resume that simply read: “My name is Olga, but my friends call me Olia. I do not have any experience, but if you hire me, you won’t regret it.”
Unsurprisingly, the catapult didn’t pan out. However, despite my meager resume, I managed to land a job as a junior cook at a restaurant near Harrods, London.
Was it a coincidence that I became a chef? Not quite. Since childhood, I have always wanted to learn how to cook. Inspired by stories of my great-grandfather, who owned a restaurant and was a chef, I practiced by myself. By the age of thirteen, I was dreaming of opening my own restaurant and would research culinary schools like Le Cordon Bleu, hoping to apply someday.
As you already know, I found my first job at the age of eighteen. After gaining some work experience, I applied to culinary college and received a chef’s diploma, graduating with the highest exam scores among all the students.
