Although I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, I grew up in America, mostly on the east coast, one year in Maryland and seven years in West Virginia. Hinton, WV was dreadfully boring, beyond belief that I often dreamt of escaping somehow to go anywhere. I just desperately wanted out! But I learned to entertain myself, draw, do arts & crafts, read magazines, hang out with friends, and listen to different people’s issues and their gibberish. When I was a kid, I realized everything on television, including the news, was garbage, and I couldn’t tolerate listening to the crap because the media was always filled with lies, and they always seemed to promote witches, satanism, and other dark stuff as cool and fun. Since I was a good listener, I often picked up on certain signs. (I didn’t talk much because no one there intellectually stimulated me, and I didn’t want to contribute to the same gibberish, even though I probably did occasionally to blend in with others). I noticed my parents felt the same boredom there because we often took weekend and holiday trips to Washington DC and Fairfax, Virginia to party, shop, check out historical sites, and other entertaining activities. We sometimes traveled by train there, but we mostly drove eight hours to Fairfax.
