Half Aloha Spirit & Half Minnesota Nice
Living in Hawaii, I would sit on the front steps of our home and stare at the sky. I was five years old. I kept wishing for snow. I wanted to build a snowman, like the kids on TV. They were laughing and having fun.
Aloha fellow writers, readers, and editors. I have pondered life sitting on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii to riding snowmobiles in the fluffy, deep snow of Minnesota.
Yes, I picked the perfect state for snow when I got married and moved to Minnesota at age 20. I have lived through huge snowstorms and ice storms. I discovered building a snowman was hard work. Living in snow and cold weather was quite an adventure.
With two sons, a daughter-in-law, two grandsons, and at least 50 former in-laws and current in-laws, Minnesota will always be part of my home. I am grateful for all the family support. Life has been full of celebrations and scary events.
