I am obsessed with living a cozy life (hygge meets minimalism), watching thunderstorms, listening to the sound of song birds and watching scary movies.
I love chasing my dreams — and my grandkids.
I’ve been an entrepreneur most of my life.
I was the kid in high school who had NO IDEA what she wanted to be or do. While my friends went on University tours and completed applications, I stayed behind and cried.
I had so many interests, and I could see myself doing so many different things, doing them well, and truly enjoying them. Having to choose felt like the oxygen would be sucked out of the room, or that I’d be leaving a piece of myself behind. Can anyone relate?
FREEDOM is my ultimate priority so it’s no wonder I gravitated to ENTREPRENEURSHIP.
And still, as an entrepreneur, I found myself in a similar place. Having multiple passions, seeing myself within so many possibilities, and again feeling like I “had” to choose or risk looking flaky.
That inner voice has both gentleness and clarity. So to get to authenticity, you really keep going down to the bone, to the honesty, and the inevitability of something. — Meredith Monk.
When I get down to the bones of who I am… I am eclectic. I love to try new things, to learn, to be creative and innovative, to find MY way, to take a unique yet equally viable route. Adaptable from the word go.
I am a Renaissance Woman, multi-passionate to the bone.
So, my ultimate choice is to not choose.
As a result, I’ve enjoyed success across many roles & dimensions. I’ve worked in traditional print advertising, sales, managed & owned franchise businesses, launched formalized institutes for businesswomen, and coached thousands of Women Entrepreneurs towards higher stratospheres of visibility & reach.
I’ve learned that “choosing” doesn’t mean “narrowing.” You can choose a life of multiple passions, multiple revenue streams, and joyful detours along the road to success — but you still need to choose what to do first.
Fun facts:
INFJ/P, Leo/Virgo cusp, Enneagram 3w4, Ravenclaw, Manifesting Generator. Life path 1.
I’m running my digital empire from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Moose Jaw is Canada’s most notorious city because of its PROHIBITION PAST. There is plenty of evidence to suggest Al Capone spent considerable time hiding out in Moose Jaw’s underground tunnel network. A documentary called “Finding Al” is compelling. One other claim to fame is Expedia.ca named Moose Jaw Number 3 on their list of “10 Coolest Downtowns in Canada” — we were the only Saskatchewan community to make the list!
One of my favorite assessments related to entrepreneurship is the ‘High 5 Strengths Test’. My results are: STRATEGIST, COACH, CATALYST, OPTIMIST, BRAINSTORMER.
I love learning the strengths of others — to create common ground by seeing the qualities we share in common AND to tap other people’s strength through networking, referrals and any other fun and rewarding way we can support each other. It’s a free test you can do here https://high5test.com/ and be sure to share what you discover in the comments.
My top values are Freedom, Family, Personal Responsibility, Generosity and Having a Positive Attitude.
My current focus:
The crème de la crème of written content.
Most entrepreneurs would love to write a book someday but sadly, most will never believe they are ready, or think they have the time, or feel worthy enough, or qualified to. The psychological barriers of bringing ones own book to life are real.
“Someday” is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you.”
— Tim Ferriss
As a contributing author to seven books, I’ve learned that collaboration and being part of a co-author team, minimizes and even eliminates a lot of the worries and fears that aspiring authors have.
Co-authoring allows you to become a published author — and enjoy the many perks of it — without having to write an entire book (you write just ONE chapter) or take on the full costs of self-publishing and hours of time and energy to figure out on your own. Sometimes you’re just not ready to write your own book but you are ready to become a Published Author.
We are currently accepting co-authors to The Success Rituals: Winning Habits of High-Achieving Women Volume 3. Our first two books were International Best-Sellers and we’re on a mission to do it again!
Mastermind of Women Entrepreneurs
I started a publication here on Medium called Mastermind of Women Entrepreneurs dedicated to showcasing the wisdom of women entrepreneurs as it relates to the five most common challenges “W.E.” face — marketing, mindset, productivity, profitability and fulfillment.
Success leaves clues. We can share, learn and teach from our experiences and expertise. That said, our main feature is the “Her Success Leaves Clues Interviews”. Are you a woman entrepreneur? I’d love to feature you there.
I Believe Her Success Leaves Clues
That’s why the focus of the Mastermind of W.E. Publication is interviews. More on this coming soon!
This initiative takes me back to 2010-ish when I started the International Association of Women in Business Online. In full transparency “IAWBO” as it was called is one of those things I wish I had never allowed to die a quiet death (ahem, the dark side of being multi-passionate is… “Squirrel!!”). A story for another day.
“The most notable fact that culture imprints on women is the sense of our limits. The most important thing one woman can do for another is to illuminate and expand her sense of actual possibilities.” — Adrienne Rich
