About Me — Harshy
Being a human, I’m a study in contrasts and I kind of like that!
So, I have a theory that while words are wonderful, there exist some concepts that are too big to be explained by words. The mere naming of them diminishes them. I believe that Humans in all their complexity, in the taking up of space and time, are EXACTLY this kind of concept.
With that in mind, let me try to tell you a bit about myself. Let us start from the outside and work inwards.
In my professional life, I am a media strategist to multinationals: a finder of patterns, a number to emotion converter, the curiosity machine; but also I’m the person others come to when they need a hug and a cup of tea.
Rubbing right up against my inner world are the ones I love the most, they grant me certain identities and avatars for me to wear: I’m a partner of a decade, a mother to two wild women, a distant daughter myself, a prickly sibling, an absent aunt.
Then we have me, alone.
I would like to say, “I am Brave and Smart and Kind.”
However, I know a better way to say it is: “I try to be Brave more often than Fearful; Smart more often than Ignorant; Kind more often than Cruel.” Knowing that moment to moment I cannot be just one thing or three things.
