About Me — Isabel Abril
Librarian, researcher for fun, writer.
Hello, dear reader. It has been hard to look for a recent picture of myself where I looked the way I like to feel: excited for the future, confident, and hopeful about the unlocked possibilities. Handing in my MSc dissertation and walking into my first university job on the same day, surely felt that way, and it showed! Not that I lack that emotion anymore, but I think you may share with me the recent and shaken anxiety of the “return to normal” in Covid times.
You see, I am quite the introvert. There is nothing more pleasurable to me than being left to my own devices, reading, finding information, and collecting trinkets of wisdom. Or so I thought until I found out about blogging: putting together all my explorations, so I could write them all down in a sensible order as if talking to a friend and sharing it with the world? I think I may have found my calling.
Anyway, who am I?
My pronouns are she/her. I was born in Spain (Europe) to a working/ middle-class family in 1987. And yeah, I am starting to feel the weight of age, being a Millennial.
