About me — Jard
Born ambitious, proactive and loves to challenge the status quo. That pretty much sums me up.
I’ve always been a pretty stubborn kid. Trying to find my own way of doing things. In school, in sports and to be honest — in life in general. Now that I am a so called ‘adult’, I’m actually pretty happy that I have a bit of this trait in me. It got me in a state of mind, where I do actually chase the life I (think I) desire.
Growing up
Growing up, I played a lot of sports. Tennis is, and has always been, my favorite. When I was a young man, my dad used to drive me all over the country to play tournaments. I would train 4–5 times a week and play competitive in the weekends.
Training consisted of several components: physical training, mental training, technical skills, and tactical strategies. I think tennis is one of the hardest sports, especially because of the mental aspect. That’s why it has always been important for me to focus on growing my mental toughness. And that did not come easy. It came with a lot of resistance in younger me. I struggled to handle losses, was a perfectionist to the core, and often threw my racket around as if it meant nothing to me. But it meant everything.
Why am I telling you this? Because I believe it laid the foundation for the person I am today.
I’ll share way more articles about the parallels between tennis and life. There is so many, that I’ve decided to write my first book about it.
Nomad
For the last 2 years, I’ve been living like a nomad. I’m travelling around without a permanent residence. I fell in love with surfing somewhere on the Spanish coast and continued developing my skills in Indonesia.
For a workaholic wanting to do to many things (also not work-related) it can be pretty tough not having a solid base. Sometimes I feel like I’m freewheeling through life.
Yet, on the flip side, it’s incredible. It gives me the chance to learn so much — about the world, about myself, and about the endless possibilities life has to offer. It’s shaping me in ways I could have only dreamed of. I’m constantly exposed to countless variables — different people, diverse cultures, and unique perspectives. (Which is something I can’t wait to share ;) )
Building dreams
From my passion for doing things (sports, activities etc.), I’ve decided to make work easier. I’m super intrigued by modern day technology, because I believe it can help us enjoy life more. That’s why I started learning about AI from an early stage. Today, I run an agency that helped over 50 companies implement AI & automation into their business processes.
Since the agency is my (I don’t know how many’th) attempt at building a successful online business (which, thank goodness, finally seems to be working), I would love to share more about this. I’ve decided to start building in public and write about the things I learn on this journey.
And yes, I will be writing about how you can make your life (and business) easier using this technology. I’m also committing to showcasing business use cases from my clients that can significantly benefit your business.
Why you should consider following me
The main reason I’m starting this Medium journey is to express my thoughts and improve my writing. I have big ambitions of becoming a writer someday and publishing some books into the world.
I’ll write about a various of topics, coming straight from my personality. You can expect a lot of parallels between sports and life, as that’s a passion of mine. I’ll share a wealth of insights on (small) business strategies and productivity hacks — because that’s how I’m growing and developing myself.
I also like to explore. The world, but also statements to dive into. So expect a bit of that ;).
