It’s ironic. When I was growing up, I hated my middle name. In fact, for most of my adult life, I’ve hated it as well. However, I now realize it’s one of the many things somewhat unique about me. There are a ton of people named Jennifer who were born in the 70s. There aren’t very many named Jennifer Marla.

I’ve lived in a lot of places, but consider myself from Eastern Washington State (Kennewick). Now I live in Minnesota where right now when I walk outside my snot immediately freezes inside my nostrils (it’s January).

During the work week, I am a product manager for a Fortune 5 healthcare company. I love what I do, though my imposter syndrome sometimes gets the best of me. Still, I’m doing something right because it’s been two years and I still have a job and great reviews.

I wrote on Medium for a while back before the PANDEMIC hit. I tried to keep writing then, but couldn’t bring myself to. It seemed like a waste of time to write when I wasn’t sure if I was going to live or die. Nobody knew what was going to happen and it felt like Doomsday.

Healthcare PM by day, writer always. I explore invisible illness, burnout, and midlife chaos. Freelance-friendly. Sarcasm is part of the package.
