Hi everyone, I am Jessica (and not Jessica)! As explained in my first story “I Am Not Jessica”, I am using an alter ego to feel more freedom to express myself while finding my voice.

I am 29 years old. I was born in the North-Eastern part of China, raised in Milan, Italy, and now live in London, UK.

I am new to Medium, just joined in September 2021. I will be mostly writing personal essays and mental health. I am particularly fascinated by the connection between the body and the mind.

I will also write about sustainable development, a topic I am passionate about. Although I cannot define myself as any sort of expert, I am trying to learn and read about it as much as possible.

I can’t wait to start writing and sharing my stories with you!

My Background

I was born into a middle-class family in a small town in China. My parents both worked as high school teachers. I only met regularly with relatives from my mother’s side: my father is an immigrant himself from the Inner Mongolian region, where his family is still living.
