From the author

It’s JE — MIL — ROOT, but I can be called Carla too.

I am a Filipino-Chinese-Spanish, 32, born and raised in the Philippines.

I am currently a regional spokesperson for the sole energy grid corporation in the Philippines, and also a PR lead specialist. I am still new in this profession, two years now.

Apart from my regular job, I have my side-hustles:

  1. I do leadership seminars for companies and universities.
  2. I teach news writing to high school and college students.
  3. I am also a voice-over talent for television and radio commercials.
  4. Writing on Medium is also a side-hustle.

I also do volunteering:

  1. I am a coronavirus research volunteer for East Asia and Southeast Asia regions for WhoWhatWhy.org.
  2. Previously, I was a New Zealand Red Cross refugee support volunteer.

If you want to get to know me better, here is an article about me and why I have multiple names.
