About Me — Joe DeRouen
I’m a father, a husband, a writer, a teacher, a reader, and more.
I was born on a mountaintop in Tenn…oh, wait, that wasn’t me! I was actually born and raised in a very small town in Illinois called Carthage, moved to the massively big city of Dallas, Texas when I was a teenager, and now reside in the medium-sized city of Rogers, Arkansas. I’m a father, a husband, a writer, a (substitute) teacher, a reader, and more. I collect Mego action figures, Bicycle playing cards, and Facebook friends.
I’m married to the love of my life and together we parent our brilliant 19-year-old son who will start college this year, on his way to a political science degree. I consider myself very knowledgeable about politics, but he is truly gifted in that arena. I fully expect him to someday run for office — and win!
I’ve written and published four novels and one short story collection. Depending upon who you ask, I write dark fantasy, horror, urban fantasy, science fiction, or even romance. Me, I’ll leave that up to my readers to decide. I have a television pilot “in development,” which means that, if I’m very lucky, it might actually get made someday.
