Making the Most of Every Opportunity
Who am I?
That’s the question of the century or at least a half a century for me. I have asked that question many times throughout the years. It became urgent when the last two of our seven children started their high school studies.
I was a working mom with our older kids. I worked as a medical transcriptionist for thirteen years. Staying in my own cubicle every day all day suited this introvert just fine.
Then I moved to a small town, and the only job available was at the local bank as a teller. I now had to people all day. It was exhausting.
My supervisor made sure to let me know that I was the worst teller she had ever seen. However! I could cross sell the heck out of their products, and I was designated the sales liaison. I won every contest, even the ones I didn’t want to win like the one that sent me speeding down a mountain on a bobsled with an Olympian skeleton champion.
I am the least adventurous person you’ll ever meet, but I did it. I didn’t know if the smile I had when I got out of the sled was from my accomplishment or the g-forces that propelled…
