About Me — John Onorato
Working Writer — Coach — Gamer — Animal Lover—Words Are Life
Growing up isolated, books were my only friends. I read the Hardy Boys, I read MAD Magazine, I read about Tom Swift and his Electric Meathook, I read nearly anything I could get my hands on.
A childhood filled with text and an academic father granted me the facility with words I’ve held all my life.
So I live to write, and I write to be read.
I also love playing with my dogs (have three, as of this writing); I love role-playing games (and other types too); I love to watch good movies; I love to lead people to their better selves; and I love to be vulnerable.
In the Shell of a Nut
Put succinctly: I have struggled with low self-esteem and depression, practically since birth.
Reviled by my peers, I managed to excel in school.
Like a life-long sailor, the ocean is in my blood. For good.
In 3rd grade, I discovered Star Trek. I knew right then this was the way I wanted to live.
Since then, I have been on a mission: To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go … where no man has gone before.
