About Me — Jonny Masters
Gay Christian who loves being outside and writing poems
Hi, I’m Jonny.
That’s me, in the picture, on top of a hill in the UK, where I live. I like climbing hills, particularly in winter. I get out of breath, and I can see it steaming in front of me. The cold air cools me, and the wind whips across my hair. At any time of year I love to be outside. Climbing hills gives a sense of achievement, connects you with nature and, whether in company or alone, gives me a sense of purpose.
Other things about me include my Christian faith, my sexuality (I’m a gay man), my husband and my love of poetry. I’ll tell you a little bit about each of those.
Oh! My dogs! I love dogs, and have several pets. I’ll tell you about them too.
Christian Faith
I have been a Christian for almost as long as I can remember — since I was four years old. I was brought up in a Christian home. My faith influences my choices, my decisions, my career. It influences everything about me. I try to hold it lightly, though, which seems a bit of a paradox. By this I mean I aim not to impose it on anybody, and I aim to always choose love over judgment. I hope my writing reflects that.
