Welcome. I’m Julieta Miquelarena — a poet, artist, and curious soul shaped by the soft hills of Tandil and raised in the quiet heart of Rauch, Argentina.

I come from long stretches of countryside and long tables of conversation — where silence was as telling as speech, and life moved with horses, books, and the weather.

My early days were strung between bike rides to school and gallops through fields, a rhythm of rural freedom that gave form to my imagination. Weekends meant family meals that lasted hours — plates passed between laughter, stories, and the warm clatter of togetherness. My brother and I filled the afternoons with pretend bookstores, secret treehouses, and the kind of mischief that only the open land permits — once, he chased me with a snake in hand. I forgave him by sunset.

There was no television in my room. Instead, there were books. My mother’s quiet rebellion against noise gave me the space to listen inward. I discovered writing after reading The №1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. It was the first time I saw voice as a home. Soon, I was writing short stories and poems, building worlds where reality bent.

By the time I was ten, I had found the stage — performing Homer and Shakespeare in the intimate local theatre. I sent demo tapes and photographs by post to casting agents, and one day, the phone rang. That small call expanded my world. Commercials followed, then fashion editorials, then travel. From Buenos Aires, I would go on to live, work and explore continents — Africa, Japan, America, Europe — gathering languages, gestures, and the weight of being in every place I landed.

But it always comes back to the page.

I write under the pseudonym DPW — Deeply Poetic World. It’s not a brand. It’s a compass. A space where emotion, thought, and language are met with devotion. Where we explore what it means to feel deeply, to pay attention, to live awake. My writing — whether poem, reflection, or profile — is not here to dazzle. It’s here to hold what life often leaves unsaid.

I draw from a constellation of literary influences — starting with the elegant severity of Borges, who turned me into a library freak before I knew how to catalog my own questions; the clarity of Glück, the spare truths of Hemingway, the spell of Keats, the strangeness of Kafka. I’ve been shaped by Dickinsons stillness, Munro’s realism, and Murakami’s lucid dream logic. Benedetti taught me intimacy. García Márquez gave me the breath of magic. Virginia Woolf taught me how to follow thought until it breaks the surface.

More recently, the voices of Ada Limón, Caroline Bird, Victoria Redel, Mary Oliver, Shuri Kido, and Anthony Anaxagorou have expanded the possibilities of my voice — each one a chord in the wider music that DPW inhabits.

This work — the poems, the reflections, the slow, careful becoming — is part of my first book. It’s not a beginning or an end, but a record of return. A turning toward what matters.

DPW is a sanctuary — a place where words become bridges between inner and outer worlds. A space to read where the image gives way. Where tone, silence, and memory ask to be felt, not explained—a home for what doesn’t fit elsewhere.
