About Me — Kajal Jasani
In a nutshell: my life, my stories, my journey.
To start with, I was fascinated by writing about myself in a publication. I mean, who would have thought that a publication like gives an opportunity to introduce yourself to the world.
Well, I’m a 30 year old married woman from India, born in Hyderabad in a Gujarati middle-class family of 6 people.
My life is crazy and so is my family.
I will talk about my crazy yet beautiful family in another article of mine. :)
It’s going to be a hell of a ride where I am going to let the cat out of the bag and unveil almost everything about myself.
Let’s talk about my childhood:
I have heard from a lot of people how their childhood was nothing less than a trauma but at the same time, I thought to myself how beautiful mine was.
Touchwood!
We weren’t rolling in dough but my folks managed to give me & my brother the childhood we deserved.
I have played every game from hide and seek to current-shock to color game to video games.
I have been given the leverage to be a naughty kid & make people scream at me, sometimes. But, isn’t that all about being a kid?
Let’s talk about my interests & some fun facts about me:
I have been a multi-talented person since I can remember. As a kid, I always used to participate in plethora of activities, out of which, few have stayed with me even today.
- I like to sing and match with the original singer’s voice. A special thing about me is I listen to the songs I love in the shower & somehow manage to memorize the lyrics in a day or two.
- I can watch my favorite shows & movies all over again on a loop without getting bored.
- I love spending my Sundays, mostly at different eateries. To pick few, I am a sucker for Pasta, Chinese, Indian food.
- If you wake me up in the middle of the night & ask me if I’d like to have tea, you’ll see dancing with glee.
- I have a very few friends, I can actually count them on my fingers but I would move mountains for them when needed. I’m a relationship person.
This might sound monotonous but that’s me:
- I’m bold by thoughts but still old school at heart.
- I don’t like lying/cheating/hiding stuff from anybody, be it my folks, my husband or a stranger for that matter.
- I am a over-thinker and I can irk you to a breakeven point with my never-ending negativity sometimes. (This is pretty sad but I’m working on it)
One thing that nobody knows about me:
I have always wished to have a social media channel of my own where I could post my singing stories & posts and build an audience of my own.
I admire & fantasize social media influencers (especially musicians) who perform at concerts & get so much love & attention.
What stopped me, you’d ask?
UNDER-CONFIDENCE.
I don’t feel confident posting my videos to an audience that I am not familiar to. I don’t feel secure & safe.
What do I like writing about?
As I have already mentioned in my About section, I love writing about life, motivation, random topics that matter & are unsaid and most importantly, relationships.
Sometimes, in situations of low-esteem, bad mood, all you need is to listen, read or write about things that can cheer you up or make you feel you are not the only one.
That’s what I do.
I’m here on Medium not just because:
- I love writing OR
- I am dreaming to be a renowned writer someday & get paid OR
- I am under influence of people & trying to replicate them without a motive.
But also, because I know I could bring in a slight change in someone’s life with my personal experiences & journey.
I am affirmative that someone out there needs to read what I write.
Lastly, I am a kind person & well, you could judge that by having a conversation over comments, maybe?
