About Me — Kay
The story of an introverted storyteller
I am Kay — a reader, a writer, and a dreamer lost between the realms of life and darkness. I love immersing myself in stories, whether they’re found in books, through travel, or in the conversations I share with others.
The stars and cloudless skies captivate me, and I have a deep fascination for psychology. I love learning about how our mind works, and I have a deep curiosity about mental health. More than anything, I cherish the act of learning, for it fuels my curiosity and my desire to understand the world around me.
As a reader, my favorite genres are contemporary romance, romantic suspense, women’s fiction, and literary fiction. I gravitate towards books with good writing and sappy emotional moments.
Growing up, I spent countless years living in the shadows of my siblings, navigating my childhood as the youngest of my siblings. Born and raised on various military bases, primarily in Mumbai and Kochi, my father’s career in the Indian Navy led us on many adventures. Each year, I would travel on different ships and submarines, developing an unparalleled love for the water, oceans, and the sea.
Now at 21, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a major in Journalism. My passion for stories — no matter their form — drove me to choose this path. I aspire to be the one who narrates and transforms the stories of others, ensuring their voices are heard and their emotions felt.
While my thirst for knowledge is insatiable, I recognize how much I still have to learn. I adore traveling, but apart from visiting four states, my journeys have been limited. I find joy in writing, yet despite having 18 works in progress, I haven’t published any of my stories on any platform. I dream of the day I can take the reins of a motorcycle and experience the thrill of driving instead of simply being a passenger.
As an introvert, I’m gradually breaking out of my shell, striving to open up and grow. I want to love myself fully, to free myself from the constraints I’ve placed on my heart, and to give myself the chance to expand my connections with others.
Staring a medium account as a writer was the first starts, I am exploring myself more and giving myself a chance through writing personal essays, freeing my thoughts from the cage called brain.
I yearn for meaningful conversations with friends and family, the kind that forge deeper connections and help us understand one another more profoundly. In this journey of self-discovery, I am embracing my dreams, my fears, and everything in between as I seek to navigate the beautiful complexity of life.
My favorite way to spend a day is by a beach with my sisters, having fun and enjoying each other’s company. My sisters are my lifelines. I yearn for meaningful conversations with friends and family, the kind that forge deeper connections and help us understand one another more profoundly. In this journey of self-discovery, I am embracing my dreams, my fears, and everything in between as I seek to navigate the beautiful complexity of life. I hope to uncover more about the world and myself with each new adventure.
I hope to uncover more about the world and myself with each new adventure. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Life is a journey, not a destination.” I am committed to growing, sharing, and cherishing every moment along the way.
