The Truth About the Fiction

Hello!

I am a fiction writer and having one heck of a time deciding what “truth” to write about myself. Fiction seems to come easier.

But here we go.

I was born in Newfoundland, Canada (now called Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada) and now living in Saskatchewan, Canada with my wife, three adult children, and our three cats.

My wife and I support our local SPCA and have rescued five dogs and three cats since getting married. It is not surprising that cats and dogs will be found in my stories.

I have always been an avid reader, but must admit that writing is a more recent hobby. In high school, I struggled with all English and Literature courses. This does sometimes make me wonder why I decided to become a writer and I also question if I should be a writer. But then again, practice makes perfect.

I work full-time in sales from Monday to Friday. This allows me time to write casually on weekends. Also, there is a lot of driving during the week, and no shortage of ideas while I work.

In 2023, I started writing short fiction here on Medium, which has been fun! I have learned and developed so much in that short time; as much from articles I have read from other writers, as from my writing.

I am working on a couple of stories that are growing into novellas, or possibly novels. It is exciting and somewhat scary to think that I may see my name on the cover of a book. Stay tuned!
