Hello!

As a chronically introverted person, I’m glad to be introducing myself in written form as spontaneous public speaking would be an atrocious alternative. I consider myself to be a lucky, eccentric man in the digital age, where I can seek refuge in my curious online world.

Dear reader of this article, good evening!

I would like to introduce myself by starting off with a Hi, my name is Lee Sankara. I am a 21-year-old college student, necessarily leeching off my parents’ hard-earned money to pursue my political science degree and surfing happily with my hobbyism.

I’ve explored plenty of things, past and present: web development, appreciating art, learning history, running, lifting weights, engaging in martial arts, music production, playing competitive chess, and writing! I have developed all these skills over my twenty-one revolutions around that searing star. I love speaking in my class presentations and giving flowery answers during recitations, so long as I am prepared. I enjoy the pursuit of becoming a polymath, and love having full-blooded stances on issues I find important. The most common first impression people have of me is intelligent and athletic — which has supposedly humbled me. /s

I’ve been complimented for my descriptive ability, as I embellish my texts with rosy metaphors. Vivid, and that excites all the senses. I’m often felt as an authentic writer — nude with his passions — likely because of how my words touch the reader as if they were their friend. On rarer occasions, I can be vehemently cemented in my views, not as explosive as Javier Milei’s in rhetoric but you get the drift. My pupils dilate, eye contact steadier and singular, and my speech accelerates to an uncatchable pace — these are signs that I’m in the zone.

My favorite mistake to make is finding a new topic that interests me, I plan not to sleep so I drink 4 cups of coffee, with the ambitious goal of not falling asleep, then crashing at 4 am either way. It’s my personal favorite because I enjoy the hyperactivity that comes with sleep deprivation, cracking the wittiest jokes all day. Plus, I learn new things through the arduous midnight. It’s like being a crackhead though you don’t spend nearly as much money. A thrifty, polymathic crackhead, embodying the stereotypical features of a polsci major.

Henri Matisse; La danse (second version) , oil on canvas, 260 x 391 cm

I’m a huge art appreciator, a collector, or a dilettante if you prefer sophisticated descriptions. I’m a huge fan of Caravaggio, Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, and many more. I’m kind of indiscriminate in appreciating art styles. I can enjoy abstract expressionism as much as conservative, pre-Impressionism art works. I see beauty in everything, in that I recognize the philosophical, cultural, or aesthetic value of seemingly mundane things — as performative as it may sound.

I’m grateful for my neurodivergence and high ADHD. Though it did mire my life and landed me in situations that aren’t best for me, such as: flunking my math exams four times, helpless hyperfixations leading to ruined sleep schedules, I’m glad to be a unique benefactor to it. I’ve come to accept it as an important part to being “Lee”.

Enough said, I hoped to have amused you with miniature stories of who I am. If you find yourself captured by my linguistic charm, or if I have made your mood lighter than you were before reading this, I’d recommend following me for more freehearted writings such as this.

Personal anecdotes

Currently, my favorite work I published is Mindoro girl, Lover girl: A Memoir, A lengthy memoir for an ex-special someone.

Second favorite work: She said, “You write very well!”. A piece I wrote for someone I used to find special.

Third: An Intimate Message to my Father, Perhaps One of my Last. A letter dedicated to a now-absent father.
