Who I am on the Outside:

A woman of Scottish, English, and Norwegian heritage who grew up in New England close to the sea. A mother of two and a grandmother of three. A former grant writer, a constant reader, and a forever scribbler of stories, both true and imaginative. A divorcee, widow, lover, friend, and sister. And a crone.

Who I am on the Inside:

A constant oberver of human behavior, and analyst of my own behavior. A writer who tries to spin my experiences into words that connect with the experience of fellow travelers in this human adventure.

A survivor of two marriages: the first to a man whose darkness has yet to dissipate despite his consumption of an unhealthy amount of alcohol over many years; the second to another alcohol abuser whose mental health issues were not resolved until he ended his life in 2010.

A person who has learned to take responsibility for her own life, and not try to fix other people.

A person whose priorities, in her crone-hood, are now clear. Those priorities are people, art, love, writing, and kindness toward myself and others. And enjoying some lightness and laughter along the way.

In my 70s, I'm still evolving as I hone my true self and use my voice to scribble about my life, my lessons, and the joys of connection and community.
