Hello readers on medium, I have already posted a couple of articles but until this week not really got into this platform.
Let me give you a little background; I was lucky enough to have a school teacher that was looking for a way out of teaching. He managed to arrange a school trip from Wales (the UK) to New York as part of a history lesson on the Wall Street crash.
After visiting the exchange and falling in love with the idea of being a trader, we had a game over the Christmas period where the same teacher had bought newspapers for all of the students, the rules where simple. Each had an amount of “monopoly money” we had to assess the stocks in the paper and buy shares. Hold over the Christmas vacation and in January see who had picked the best stocks.
Well, long story short — I won.
This is how I started as a trader, a few months later I dropped out of school with the hope of taking over my father’s engineering company. He had taught me to weld when I was 9. Unfortunately for me he decided to sell his company just around the time I left school.
