About Me — Liam Malvern
I only know 25 letters of the alphabet.
I don’t know why I started with that line. I tend to use humor to manage uncomfortable situations. Like a pause in conversation on a first date, or forgetting the name of someone you just met - writing this introductory post feels similar. I don’t really know what to say.
I’ve always enjoyed writing. I find it serves many purposes in my life. A therapist when I feel down or confused. A calming presence when my mind is racing. A relaxing antidote to the chaos of today, and a personal motivator when I write plans for the future.
It feels scary to put myself out there. But that’s exactly why I’m here. It’s just taken me a while to find the courage. And the right medium (ba-dum-tss) to share my message.
Through recounts of lived experience, I’d like to demonstrate the power of forcing yourself to navigate uncomfortable situations, and realising that fear is just a vehicle to achieving big things.
I am by no means the finished article. I’m in my 20’s. I fear large social gatherings, spiders and unexpected brussels sprouts when I eat out. The point is though, challenges keep life spicy.
And this article is just another step on an endless journey of self-discovery and expression.
Expect to hear about:
- Personal and professional experiences that have scared the bejesus out of me
- Recounts of experiences in my life that have had a profound impact on the way I think, and perceive the world.
- General ideas and concepts I have found useful from friends and the internet
- Travel guides and/or tips for destinations I have visited in my travels
About me
I’m a simple Aussie bloke really. I love sport, being active, great coffee, and the occasional beer (not together!). I have an itch to explore new places, and most recently, climb to the top of any mountain in view. I’m also a sucker for a good story — so if you’ve got one, please share it!
My sense of humor is aged well beyond my years. I’ll leave you for now with some of my favorite Dad jokes:
- What is the scariest tree in the forest? Bamboo.
- What part of the body always loses? Defeat.
OK, sorry, bye. Nice to meet you 👋 😬
