This account was created to tell the world what a young boy sees. A child who lives in two different worlds simultaneously. A child who loves learning and strives to be better every day. A child who had a small experience in a boarding place, but has had that period of time greatly influenced his actions and choices. A child who craves delicious food, travel, and enjoy life, but he has no choice but to be busy with more important things. A child who loves money, but is willing to share some of it to with his friends. A child who loves to smile at others, even though he has a lot of matter going on in his mind. A child who likes to lampooning inwardly, but keeps a straight face and doesn’t judge on the surface. He is also a servant, a warrior who constantly fighting against the demons within him.

Background
Hello everyone, my name is Awal. The first of two children born in Indonesia, a place of great natural beauty and human diversity. Both my parents are ordinary people who managed to educate their children to become devoted people. My father is a baker who is assisted by my mother. Although I was born into an ordinary family, I was taught to love learning so that I continue to develop physically and spiritually.

Current Condition
I am currently an undergraduate at a university in Indonesia. On campus, I study metallurgy, which is the science of metal processing. To master metallurgy, we are required to master chemistry as a basic science in every process, which chemistry is my biggest enemy since high school, very troublesome indeed. But as time went by, inevitably I had to give in and accept my biggest enemy and learn it gracefully.

In addition to college, I also live in a boarding place to study the Qur’an and spiritual development. During the day I go to campus, then in the afternoon to the morning I go back to my cottage to learning the Qur’an and take care of the place I live in. Here I not only learn about spirituality, but also manners, relationships with parents and the neighborhood residents, time management between campus and boarding activities, and much more. For food, I was taught by my teacher to cook using simple ingredients to produce amazingly delicious food. It’s really great to be able to cook, we can maintain the quality of the food we eat and also culinary tourism without having to spend a lot of money to go to a restaurant.

Both places taught me two different lessons, physical and spiritual. So you could say I lived in two worlds. A person who lives in two different places was tiring, but I learned many valuable lessons that people my age rarely get. This caused me to miss out on a lot of things, such as friends, time for fun, let alone thinking about relationships with women. But I didn’t mind, because I only had a little time in my youth, so I had to maximize that time to find as much provisions as possible in preparation for days ahead.

Hobbies
Since I have very little time, for now I only have a few things to keep my brain happy. One of them is cooking or reading novels. Don’t get me wrong, although I rarely travel, my teacher at the boarding place provides many recipes for his students to cook, to the point that I don’t remember how many there are and rely on notes to write down the recipes taught by my teacher. Some of my favorite dishes were squid, fish and duck. After cooking, we eat together in one long food mat, because here we are taught about togetherness.

My favorite fiction novel I’ve read is called Lord of the Mysteries. This novel tells the journey of Klein Moretti who transmigrates from the modern world to the world of the victorian era with mystical powers. I love this novel because it has a complex story and excellent character development. Not to forget some volume themes and plot twists that make the reader absorbed in the journey of a Klein Moretti. The author of LOTM, Cuttlefish, has a knack for telling details about everyday life, such as the economy, people’s habits, and even food!

Klein Moretti Traveling LOTM World

The number of chapters of this novel is indeed a lot, so I can’t recommend it too much to my friends, especially the first volume which is quite slow for world building and character development, making some readers feel bored to continue. But for those who are interested, you can give it a try and keep persevering, because this novel is similar to Lovecraft’s stories that contain mysteries and gods or monsters, as well as magic like Harry Potter.

Nickname — Lil’ Apatite
The nickname I use now is Lil’ Apatite or Little Apatite. Apatite itself is a mineral commonly used as a gemstone. The name Apatite comes from the greek word “apatao” (to fool), because the stone has a deceptive appearance and has often been confused with other stones because of its declensions of colors. I like the name or the origin of this name because it fits my deceptive nature. But don’t feel lied to by reading this, heh heh. Because I only apply this trait to my outward appearance. There is one quote that is quite memorable, namely “Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak”. From there, I continue to maintain my appearance, so as not to invite enemies that I don’t want.

Apatite Mineral

I added the word “Little” because I see myself as a child or one person among many in this world. My role as a person can’t change the world, but I try to keep making small steps in improving myself and the people around me only.

When combined, Little Apatite means a deceptively small mineral. A small mineral that is ordinary but can encourage personal expression. Stone of communication, it would decrease the problems of language, while helping to verbalize the thread of its thoughts.

About the topic to be written
The topics that I focus on revolve around the field of metallurgy or my favorite things like cooking or reading. I will share the knowledge I gained from learning about the metallurgical process from beginning to end process. Or tell about Indonesia which has abundant mineral resources. Or maybe other topics that I delve into, but for now I will focus on the field of metallurgy and my experience while in the cottage.

Closure
Maybe that’s an introduction from myself, a little boy struggling in this vast world. Thank you for reading until here, hopefully what is in this article or the next article can be useful for all readers. Sorry if there are words or sentences that are difficult to understand, because this is my first time writing on any platform, heh heh. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community of writers here, and hope you can join my first journey as a writer.

Awal

And finally, I dedicate this writing and the next writings to my parents, Tri and Nur.
