About Me – LJ3
City Planner | Festival Producer | Baltimore Advocate
Hi, I’m Linzy Jackson, a native of East Baltimore with a deep passion for city planning, arts, and community empowerment. I’ve spent my career working for the City of Baltimore, across multiple agencies, where I’ve contributed to urban development projects that aim to make my city more livable, walkable, and playable for everyone.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Urban Studies from Coppin State University and am currently completing a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning at Morgan State University. My academic and professional journey has centered around a commitment to revitalizing Baltimore through the intersection of arts, culture, and urban development.
As the festival producer for AFRAM – the largest African-American heritage festival on the East Coast – and Charm City Live, I’m dedicated to creating cultural experiences that celebrate our rich history, elevate local businesses, and foster connections between residents and visitors alike. I believe in the transformative power of festivals and events to bring life to our neighborhoods and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
When I’m not planning events or brainstorming ways to enhance Baltimore’s multimodal conditions, you can find me exploring Maryland’s local wineries and thinking of ideas for my own wine label, using locally grown grapes.
Follow along as I share my thoughts on city planning, community development, and the dynamic role of culture in shaping the cities we love.
