Welcome to my blog! I’m Lucia Pan, an ex-financial analyst and currently a freelance audio producer and designer. I’m actively seeking passions, learning technical skills, and gaining knowledge on humanity, history, and geography.
I lived in multiple cultures — born and raised in China, worked in the United States and Europe, and experienced different industries and working styles.
In my blog, I share my knowledge on freelancing, culture, personal development, and entrepreneurship. Especially, I would love to share about cultural differences, work choices, and deeper thoughts and discuss them with you so that we can help each other build more ideal lives.
Words Describe me:
- Avid learner: “Knowledge is just delicious!” I love acquiring all sorts of knowledge, from art to business to science and technology.
- Introvert: I prefer reading books, listening to courses and podcasts, drawing, exercising, and watching social media. I also love to hang out with close friends occasionally.
- Creative: In my spare time, I enjoy drawing and crafts. I work in graphical design and video production. I’m also trying to be “creative” in daily life — such as testing different work and lifestyles.
- Ambitious: I’m avid at creating, writing, and education, and desire to make the world better during my life!
Career Choice:
I majored in finance and economics in college and have been a financial analyst for three years. This is a good career path but, unfortunately, not my true passion.
I took a break from last year and switched to freelancing; my work includes audio production, design, and writing. It is challenging yet rewarding, where I got greater flexibility and autonomy. Freelancing also provides opportunities for career advancement and a greater sense of accomplishment.
I’m still experimenting and learning about business and freelance; I’m willing to share my process with you in my blogs.
My Family:
I’m the only kid of my parents, who currently live in a small city in China. Currently, I live alone with two fluffies: my cat “Dong-dong” (which means winter), and my bear “Grape” (who has black eyes like grape, haha).
Both my mother and father are retired; they used to be a chemical technical staff and a civil engineer.
Why Writing:
I wrote a lot from my childhood to my early 20s. I wrote diaries, poems, and social media articles. I miss the joy of writing and wish to pick up writing again.
Writing can be a form of self-expression, a way to connect with others, and a way to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. It also allows us to know ourselves better and reach mindfulness. Moreover, record our life process for the future.
Furthermore, writing is a beneficial skill in many aspects of life and can open up many opportunities, such as journalism, marketing, public relations, and education.
What I Write About:
- Business: I started freelancing about a year ago and would like to record the process and the lessons I learned.
- Culture: Lived in multiple cultures, and I’m constantly thinking about and researching cultural topics. It also raises my interest in history, geography, and policies.
- Personal Development: life has changed a lot since my freelancing. I will record my tips in personal development, writing skills, work-from-home productivity, etc.
- Life Choices and Lessons.
- Random Things I want to share (haha), from deeper thoughts to silly things.
