Even when life gets tough, why would you choose to lose when you have a choice to win?

Hi, I am Maja. Welcome to the ride. It might be wild.

Long story short

I was a kid with a boundless imagination who loved stories and was drawn to writing — preferably using chalk on a balcony. I found every rainfall exciting because it wiped the chalk off so I could write a new story.

I am a middle child. It often equals rebellious black sheep in the eyes of parents. I find the justification of this opinion questionable.

I am half Slovak, and half Czech (with a pinch of Polish). I spent my childhood in Central Slovakia surrounded by stunning mountains. The love of nature and mountains never left me.

I used to have my hopes and dreams, and lots of courage. I aspired to have a good life. In my teenage years, I enjoyed spending many evenings playing World of Warcraft or sitting on the bed, furiously writing. I had so many stories in my mind I wanted to tell to the world!

A few years later, life took a cruel spin.

My father was diagnosed with cancer when I was finishing my Master’s Degree. A year and a half later he passed away.
