About Me — Marc Paquette
Husband, Father, Nurse, Musician
Those who know me well would agree that I am a dreamer. I am always thinking of new ideas and projects. Though my head may be busting with thoughts and ideas, I find it hard to find time to explore those ideas further between the demands of work, daily chores, and spending quality time with my family. I have decided to start writing so I can have a place to share my thoughts and give them a place to live and not just be fleeting and ethereal.
I was born in Mississippi in 1980. My father was in the US Air Force, so we would move every 2–4 years. Life as an Air Force brat was fun, and being able to see many different cultures and communities across the United States and Europe has had a lasting effect on how I see and interact with the world.
After graduating high school, I continued to interact with new cultures as a United States Marine. In the Marine Corps, I worked as a musician and was able to experience new cultures and communities around the Pacific ( California, British Columbia, Okinawa, Guam, and the Gold Coast of Australia).
Even though I enjoyed traveling the world, I also wanted to one day have a family. I knew that I would not want to be constantly away from my family on military deployments, so I got out of the military and pursuedpa career as a nurse.
My nursing career has brought me many new experiences and ways to connect to others. This journey also brought me the opportunity to meet my beautiful bride and the joy of raising 2 girls with her.
I am looking forward to getting my thoughts and ideas out of my head, and I hope to inspire others to share as well. We all have something to give, as we all have unique lived experiences and cultural insights that can bring meaning and clarity to life.
