About Me — Maria Garcia
A storyteller who is a story in production
“All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I’ve been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don’t mean anything
When you’ve got no one to tell them to
It’s true, I was made for you”
— The Story, Brandi Carlile
Hi friend. Yes, the you Brandi is referring to is you, sweet reader on Medium. Also, I know what you’re thinking, I’m 28, how many lines do I really have on my face? The answer is enough, for now.
If I had to describe myself through song lyrics (I don’t have to, I just want to), at this moment in time, I would go with this:
“I don’t know, where to begin”, so sometimes I just “listen to the wind/To the wind of my soul.” My imagination is my faithful companion, and as a result, “I am an architect of days that haven't happened yet.” When I get stuck, I remind myself that “nobody wins afraid of losin’/And the hard roads are the ones worth choosing.” But still, I sometimes wonder, “can the child within my heart rise above?/Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?/Can I handle the seasons of my life?”
