About Me — Maria Garcia
This life is all one big story…!
If I had to describe myself through song lyrics (I don’t have to, I just want to), at this moment in time, I would go with this:
“I don’t know, where to begin”, so sometimes I just “listen to the wind/To the wind of my soul.” My imagination is my faithful companion, and as a result, “I am an architect of days that haven't happened yet.” When I get stuck, I remind myself that “nobody wins afraid of losin’/And the hard roads are the ones worth choosing.” But still, I sometimes wonder, “can the child within my heart rise above?/Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?/Can I handle the seasons of my life?”
In other words, I am a wanderer, and I wonder. And if anything, you have some new music to listen to or some old jams to reminisce to.
On a less abstract note, though Portuguese by nationality, I grew up around the world, (Washington DC, New York, The Hague, Lisbon, and Pretoria), and define myself more as a third-culture kid. I’m back home now, rooted in the soil I was planted in, but really I am always everywhere. Somewhere in the wind.
I studied Psychology in my BA and then did a master's in Psychology of Intercultural Relations. But I am no academic at heart. Creativity has always been — very poetically — my first language. Whether through…
