About Me — Mark Goblowsky
I grew up in Northeast Ohio in a small town on the shores of Lake Erie — Fairport Harbor. Cold winters. Hot and humid summers and a magnificent autumn — the best time of year there.
Despite growing up in an idyllic setting, home life was far from ideal. My parents weren't well prepared to raise five children, all under the age of five simultaneously. They did the best they could. But it left some marks. Physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Hence, part of my need to write.
I have lived in Bellevue, Nebraska, since 1987. It was my last duty station coming out of the military. And it took a long time for me to get used to the flat lands and corn fields, but it is home now.
Teaching Martial Arts, specifically Kung Fu, has been my full-time career since July 14, 1990. A career in martial arts allowed me to influence and impact how people live—something I also want to do with my writing.
My goals on Medium are to write, which I have wanted to do since high school.
Specifically, I want to share what I've learned and lived through in my lifetime. Ideally, help others along the way to see they aren’t broken…
