Who am I?
Do you ever ask yourself this question?
I’ve been writing on Medium since December 2023, and I only recently discovered the About Me publication. That sounded like a lot of fun, so here goes.
Nowadays
I live in my modest two-bedroom home with my two yorkies, Hershey and Jazzy. I live in a Midwest city where it is so hot that my dogs are melting on the sidewalk. I closed on this house last July 13, 2023, and moved in the beginning of August when it was 103 degrees.
But who am I?
I am a mother, grandma, daughter, sister, friend, and dog mom. I am an acknowledged plant addict. When I moved, I gave away over 400 plants last year so they would fit in this smaller home.
The beginning
I grew up the youngest child in a family of five, with two older siblings. My mother had an undiagnosed mental disorder called Borderline Personality Disorder. This single fact represented the reason for the trauma that was my childhood.
As the youngest child, I received some protection from my older siblings. I spent a lot of time hiding in a closet and under beds. Once I was old enough to leave the house, I played every sport I could to escape the house. By the time I was a teenager, I could drive…
