About Me — Meagon Nolasco
I am not the best at summing up my persona in words. My stories are just that and a piece about me, while a tale similar to others, is still so non-fiction it can be intimidating. Similar to a profile bio on a dating app, I always wonder if my important life stories will translate the same to others.
But, I digress.
I grew up in a very small town in Central California with a single mother and a personality that screamed for attention.
I was a straight-A student in school but, I was much more preoccupied with partying. What I really was preoccupied with was drowning my feelings out. I wouldn’t know this hidden agenda for more than a decade.
And just like that, I let my future fall right from my fingertips. The future I originally had planned at least. Scholarships, school clubs, and friends became a thing of the past.
I began using heavy drugs at the age of 15. I dropped out of high school and only showed up to campus to provide dangerous substances and leave with my winnings.
During this time, I wrote nothing.
I have been a lover of words from an early age. I always connected so much with books because they took me away from the chaos and trauma that was childhood. Once I became old enough to write and form a coherent sentence, I was a force to be…
