About Me – Meenal Gupta
When I got a message from ‘About Me’ and they asked me to write an intro about myself and submit, I thought it would be easier but it’s definitely not. Kudos to all those who have done it, great guys! I have written about things that I have experienced, imagined, or expected but writing about the person who is experiencing, imagining, or expecting is different and challenging, so I am up for it!
Let’s start from the basics…
I am 26 years old living in a small town in India. I am the eldest one in my family and a Leo, which adds to my dominating nature (ask my siblings about it). I am a Science Teacher by profession and also a student of Psychology. Apart from that, I am also an intern as a Content Writer. I need not mention about being an introvert as writing blogs on Medium is obviously not an extrovert’s cup of tea.
Time to know few of my favorite things…
My favorite color is Black.
My favorite animal is the Lion.
My favorite movie is Yeh Jawani hai Deewani (Bollywood) and La La Land (Hollywood).
My favorite human is Me. (Yes, I am self-obsessed.)
I think that’s pretty much sums up my basic information. It’s time to dig deeper.
Things that would define me better
I may look like a hard-headed woman but deep down my emotions control me and I don’t have any issues with that. I love being emotional as it helps me to connect better with people and things. I take it as a strength as it makes me a reliable and trustworthy person. Although that sometimes breaks my heart but once we are surrounded by the right people, it’s not the same.
I don’t want those unnecessary heart-breaks and that is the reason why I have big trust issues. It takes me a lot of time to rely on the people but once that period is over, I have no boundaries for those who enter my aura. And finally, after years of search, I have a few amazing people in my life who have made me feel even more obsessed, loved, and blessed at the same time. They are my ‘Magic Beans.’ While I am still searching for my ‘Lobster’!
I always trust my instincts. They take me to things I don’t expect and save me from things I don’t need to suffer from. I am an overthinker at times but yes I know how to get hold of my thinking when it starts bringing up the old embarrassing moments that happened a few decades ago. But also, sometimes the imaginary life feels so appealing that I don’t want to control that.
I am a great secret keeper and thanks to my forgetfulness. When people tell me their secrets and ask me to keep them safe, I can do that for years because after a certain point of time it becomes a secret for me too. And in that manner, it’s good for both of us.
My likes and dislikes…
I like having diversity in my life. It means a variety of clothes, music and even people. I don’t know any two people who are similar by any chance. I like exploring different perspectives. It goes with my writing also, I don’t like writing on the same topics again and again.
I also like painting and calligraphy. I do that whenever I undergo some negative emotions and it somehow boosts me up. Colors make me feel bright and happy about life, after my Cardamom Tea.
I like Moon Gazing. If I don’t pick up your call in the dusk that’s sure because I might be busy talking to the Moon. Moon gives me the extraordinary strength of shining bright and alone when everything around darkens.
I won’t be including writing in my likes because that’s what I love doing. I can do that in any mood and in any situation. It fills me with a different level of happiness which is hard to explain in words but surely could be felt by all of you.
Moving to dislikes, I don’t have many, maybe because I am an adaptable person or maybe I got them settled down.
A final note…
I believe in believing! I strongly believe that if you think you can, then you will. Belief is the strongest state of mind which can attract everything on this planet or maybe beyond. Things might take time to happen but ultimately with the power of belief, you can achieve anything.
So, for me, Belief, honesty, and patience are the best combination of qualities a person can have. I am keeping up with the first two, still struggling with the third one.
Also, I would thank ‘About Me’ for giving me this opportunity as I have never written so much about myself ever and felt good. I always thought we need someone else to appreciate us for what we are doing but sometimes we can take a break from that mindset and do it for ourselves. Not for self-obsession but for self-acceptance!
So, guys do try this out. The sensation is amazing and worth experiencing.
