About Me — Micheal Woodruff
I am the eclectic no one warned you about.
Never Wanted, only tolerated and easily replaced.
I was born in November of 1974, but not before I was killed. You read that right. I wasn’t wanted even before I was born. I spent the first ten years of my life reliving the burning of my body every night. Eventually, that subsided and is probably the reason I don’t have nightmares.
I grew up in the foster system. At a year and a half old, my foster parents picked me up from an emergency shelter home. I was the boy in the front yard with long silky blonde hair wearing a pink sweater and a diaper.
My foster parents, prompted by my foster dad’s sister, did their best to keep my siblings and me together. Not an easy task since there were seven of us. Two other siblings were never placed in the system.
As great as it was that my siblings were kept together, mostly, we were in two different households. It seemed odd that my sisters were my cousins because they resided with my foster aunt. Sometimes I would have fun explaining that to other people.
