Hello! I’m Mira Lucas.

I only just started writing (regularly) on Medium, so I thought it might be nice to introduce myself. :)

My bio

As my bio says, I’m a freelance journalist who likes cats, coffee, and social justice.

It actually still feels a bit weird for me to call myself a freelance journalist, as I haven’t been working as a full-time freelance journalist for that long.

I graduated from uni, where I studied psychology, seven years ago. I promptly realized that I didn’t want to be a psychologist and started studying journalism.

And ever since, I’ve been working part-time as a freelancer while also maintaining a day job (in those years, I worked in a bar, a restaurant, and two different bookstores).

However, because I love writing so much, I decided to quit my day job and become a full-time side hustler. So here I am.

It’s still very scary, but I’m also very excited. I quit my job when I didn’t really have any savings yet (or any steady income streams, for that matter), so I don’t know if I made the most responsible decision.
