About Me — Murad Zamanov
I never watched a “Game of Thrones.”
I’m in love with storytelling, and probably it is a unique style for me to start a virtual conversation over my personality with a reader.
I was always wondering if things you do during your life are that important that they split a shelf of your personal introduction, whether you met new people in a bar, making a speech in front of the audience, or just like me — trying to tell to some amount of readers who I am.
Yes, I understand; a string of credibility is needed, especially when a person in front of you is raising an important topic. But I’m just a guy who loves writing, a type of person who learns by doing and probably no more than that.
Therefore, I’d like to cut off the things like who I am, what I do, am I vegan or a meat-lover, eco-friendly or not, etc. I’m sure that watching a “Game of Thrones” unites much better than a dry introduction about what you do. I’m not a “Game of Thrones” fan, not cause I didn’t like it, but just cause I did not even watch that. But enough on that, let’s move on.
There are things that inspire me the most, bring me joy, challenge my brain.
What I watch
“The Grand Tour” is something I’m in love with. James, Richard, and Jeremy's legendary trio have a chemistry of elements that perhaps Mendeleev did not include in his table. The Amazon show became more about adventures rather than cars themselves. Probably I love it cause it sincere; that matters for me.
I’m watching English Premier League, but just because I watch football be so kind not to include me in the type of people who screams “my team is the best,” “opponent cheated, that’s why they won,” etc. Supporting Arsenal ❤
What I play
Apparently, only chess. I love this game; it brings me calmness and makes me feel constructive, structured, and mindful. Playing football also takes a portion of my hobbies, but lockdown says 50 people shopping in malls are safer than 10 men playing on the rented pitch. So, no football in 2020 for me.
What I love
I love collecting pictures. Not of me (how that can be loved?!) but more of architecture, cozy streets, beer bottles/glasses, etc.; I’ll share a few below.
What I read
Despite that I’m a very bad book-reader, I love non-fiction books. One of my lovely authors (who passed away this year earlier) is Clayton Christensen.
I wrote a bit on him; feel free to check below.
I read around 15–20 articles per day. Mostly in English and Russian languages, since I’m a native speaker on the last one. Usually, my reading list is about marketing, digital products, personal growth, success and failure cases, how-to’s, writing. I love comics but rarely read them before.
My journey on Medium
Well, I can barely call it a journey to scream out publicly, but yeah. Back in 2014, just like today, I was so much curious about writing and reading articles that I would have to spend nights browsing and browsing.
I don’t really remember what I was reading back then, but one story kicked out my head — it was a story written by . I immediately sat down to write the same, but could not. A bit later, I’ve realized that the power is not in words but the story behind them. It makes words to sound louder.
That probably was a turning point of writing in Medium.
It does not mean I started to write better or generally, to write, but I questioned things I do a lot. For someone interested in what the story that went viral is about, look below, and enjoy reading.
My writing for the clients
Some people can set a materialistic goal and follow it without any difficulties. A type of job you would not do if you haven’t been paid. In my case is a bit different since I propose to clients a thing that I love to do — writing.
I worked for a startup called Botbox and managed all their content (website pages, study cases, blog materials, etc.). There have been good clients from UpWork too, but I less often use that platform.
I can be interested in someone who is looking for content on:
— technology; startups, mobile applications, chatbots
— writing; tips, how to’s, SEO, bits of advice, strategy
— marketing; ads, digital marketing, social media trends
I use a storytelling style to expand more about the product or service I’m writing for. That does not mean storytelling is a must, but if I’m very good at something, it is definitely creating a story that keeps readers reading.
If your business is not cheap, I mean the idea itself (drop shippers and alike, please stay aside), you can find me very useful for the business you do.
