Unfolding my journey…..
After publishing my 40th article on Medium, I finally decided to disclose my story. I saw many fellow writers post their photos here, but I would keep it private. Don’t mind me being your unknown writer:)
1. Introduction
Hey there! I’m Nav, a STEM undergraduate who likes to share his voice and spread positivity by writing. As an introvert, I have a lot on my mind.
Most of the time, I find it difficult to express it verbally, no matter how strong my emotions are, I would rather write it down than shout my lungs out.
Writing is one of my hobbies, I also play ball sports and read books in my spare time. Many people find me quiet, sporty and easygoing. Quite polar personalities right?
2. My Writing Journey
English is my second language. Being born in an Asian region, learning it is a must. As time went by, I even found myself using English more than my mother language.
My journey with writing started from one random article I read online. I remember the author said ‘If you overthink a lot, write. If you talk a lot, listen to podcasts. If you feel stressed, go for a walk.’
This sentence fueled my interest in writing online. As an overthinker, I overload my brain with countless emotions and thoughts about literally everything.
Luckily, I found writing as an antidote. Expressing my ideas as words helped. What makes it cooler is that there are countless writers and readers like me online.
Although there isn’t much traction as I’m just starting out.

3. Future
While navigating my 20s, I solidify writing on Medium as my priority habit. At first, I tried my hardest to ride on the algorithm and earn as much money as possible.
However, it’s not as easy as I thought. Besides that, I rather do it for leisure than business. The more I pushed myself, the more pressured I felt while visiting Medium.
And that’s not what I want. My main purpose is to spread my voice and polish my writing skills while meeting like-minded talents.
Indeed, earning money is on my bucket list as well. Yet, I focus on being a seasoned writer as you see all of my posts aren’t for members-only to read.
I realized writing isn’t about myself, it is about a community. My audiences are countless people online, it’s just a matter of time before our content reaches their feeds.
For my content in the future, I would focus on my improvement, writing tips and most importantly my feelings and thoughts.
I will write about what I feel interested in.
I would also focus on spreading gratitude to my readers and the Medium community.

I live by it every single day because it drives me to step on undiscovered territories and remind myself why am I here.
