I am from Jaipur (Pink City) in India. I am a first-year PhD student at Cardiff University in the UK. My research work involves mathematical modeling of biological systems to understand the system dynamics. I also work on developing the digital twin of biological systems to access the sensitivity of various parameters.

My life journey involves a lot of turns and many places around the globe. I completed my schooling in Jaipur (in the western part of India). After that, I moved to Uttrakhand (in the northern part of India) for my undergraduate. Then, I got a job with a start-up and moved to Bangalore (in the southern part of India).

I worked as a data science professional for 6 years in Bangalore. In these 6 years, I went to Seattle, Dublin, and Barcelona for work. During these work trips, I explored the local food, wines, whiskeys, beers, museums, beaches, and national parks. I learned about the history of the place, which is fascinating when you are at the location of an event that I read about in books.

After 6 years in the corporate workforce, I went on to do a master's in mathematics at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. It was a very big change for me in every possible way. It was during COVID times, just after air travel bans were lifted. The travel from India to Canada was an adventurous journey. I went from Jaipur to Delhi (train), Delhi to Albania (flight), and stayed for 2 days in Albania to get the COVID test done (the Canadian government didn’t accept test results from India), and finally Albania to Vancouver.

Now, I am in Cardiff, UK, pursuing PhD in Mathematical Biology. I read a lot of research papers with new and old mathematical methods to solve complex problems in biology, physics, and social sciences. I want to share these methods in a simplified and usable manner, as these methods have the potential to solve problems from diverse domains. Through Medium, I want to democratize and share the amazing work of the community of mathematicians in a way that people can use it in their lives.

All my life, I have struggled with my body weight. In the past 1 year, I started taking action toward building a sustainable lifestyle instead of depending on crash diets and over-workouts to be physically fit. So, through Medium I want to share my learnings and experiences to help and support people in their fitness journey.

In my spare time, I like to read classical fiction and autobiographies. Last year, I also learned to knit and made Christmas gifts for my friends. This year, I am learning to crochet as it is easier to make complicated shapes as compared to knitting.
