Hello lovely people of Medium, I’m Nova, and thank you for bearing with me as I attempt to introduce myself! This piece got a little long, so here’s a bit of who I am in a nutshell to start with:

I’m French, but English feels like my first language. I don’t speak any other language yet, but I’m currently learning Italian. I have lived and studied in many different places, and I intend to visit many more places in the future. I’m constantly working on deconstructing my “oh wait, the grass must be greener over there, let me go check” tendencies. I like to romanticise the mundane (potentially as a response to my previous point). I have a background in History and Indigenous Studies, and I am a huge advocate for decolonial methods.

I believe friendship is a highly underrated form of love and that we should all appreciate our friends more. I’m very much a to-the-death kind of friend, and yes absolutely I will hold a grudge for approximately seven lifetimes if you hurt or disrespect somebody I love. I am a very spiritual (not religious) person, but I promise you’ll find no toxic positivity here because I despise that shit. I don’t believe in universal truth or in preaching to anybody about anything, we all have our own paths, and our own understandings of what spirituality…
