About Me- OCTAVIA EVER AFTER
I’m a person. Not a niche. I weave words and visuals to tell versatile stories.
Hey there, lovely community! 🌟👋🏾
My name is Fanchon Octavia, but in these writing streets just call me Octavia or Octavia Ever After. ✍🏾
I’m a Southern girl. Born in Alabama. Raised in GA.
Wish I knew more about all my roots ….. but I’m still new to learning about genealogy to trace my ancestry.
So far I’ve discovered some of my roots trace back to Gabon 🇬🇦 and Ireland 🇮🇪.
🗣️ Speaking of other countries, I want to visit Italy one day on top of Gabon and Ireland.
🇮🇹🍝🍕 I can read and speak intermediate Italian, I study daily by using the Duolingo app, Mondly, flashcards, and watching Italian movies and shows on youtube. I’d like to pay for a native tutor one day to teach me.
🧠 I’m a neurodivergent mom raising some equally fantastic neurodivergent kids. Together, we’re redefining what embracing our uniqueness means and walking proudly in our kaleidoscope of differences. It’s not just about living life; it’s about thriving, connecting, and showing the world that neurodiversity is a superpower.
🎥 Books, cartoons, movies, and pop culture — these are my secret ingredients to life’s magical concoction.
As I’ve journeyed through this adventure called life, I’ve started to view it as an infinite amount of movies. Each day is like a new scene, complete with its own twists, turns, and unexpected plot developments. Just when you think you’ve got the script memorized, life throws in a curveball that could rival the most shocking plot twist in a thriller.
Life isn’t just a single genre — it’s a mosaic of comedy, drama, romance, action, and everything in between.
With this being said, a lot of my writing style plays upon this.
We are all main characters and we are all supporting characters as well in life.
🍿🎥🎬
👯♀️If there’s one thing I’m more passionate about than a great book or a movie marathon, it’s forging connections and cultivating friendships.
Still learning the hard way that not everybody is truly your friend, but regardless of how many times I get hurt, I get back up, determined to find my tribe of genuine people to connect with. 🥰
👷🏾♀️I’ve dipped my toes into more ponds than you can imagine, each experience adding a vibrant hue to the canvas of my life.
✨ Embracing change and learning from every endeavor has been my key to becoming a well-rounded connoisseur of experiences. I’ve worked a wide range of jobs such as being a janitor ( that one taught me the most about people ), and I’ve also been in tech support, customer service, and retail. working for myself I’ve been a graphic designer, fashion designer, photographer, model, door dasher, and now a writer.
🧸 I have stuffed care bears as my “ co-workers” as I have my writing sessions. They also act as my emotional support bears.
💡 I prefer working in the dark, or very low light. I also love natural light to work in, but I’ve noticed when I have to work in fluorescent lighting it's very hard for me to be in my flow state.
🐿️ I LOVE animals, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and whatever else. 😂
my first rescue animal was a squirrel when I was 4. I had that squirrel for over a year until my mama had me release it back into nature because it started to attack people when they came over to our house. However, it never attacked me.
✍🏾 Since kindergarten, storytelling has been my passion. Even before I could put pen to paper, I’d excitedly narrate my tales to my mama, who would transcribe them diligently. With the handwritten stories, I’d eagerly march to school, ready for show and tell. As my teacher read my stories aloud, my classmates would gather ‘round, captivated by the worlds I spun. Their enthusiastic reactions fueled my creative fire.
🧑🏿🍳 I LOVE cooking. Cooking is one of the ways I show my love to the people in my life.
⚕️My love for cooking, interest in health and growing passion for various herbs and supplements is how I helped reverse my mama’s type 2 diabetes in under a year after she was diagnosed. Her doctor was amazed at the results.
🦁 I’m a Leo. I’m fiery, passionate, creative, protective, generous and loyal.
Tagging in who inspired me to write about me. :)
