I haven’t been in love before.
What is love?
In my own definition, love is the tingling sensation that makes your heart race. It’s the butterfly effect, an excitement when you hear your lover’s name or see him.
How do you know a lady in love?
Have you seen a girl in love giggling,
Her cheeks flush with rosy warmth,
The twinkle in her eyes when she smiles,
Playing like a baby with her lover,
Wanting more love like Oliver,
Excitement surging when she hears his voice,
Speaking to him makes her rejoice.
Missing him when he’s not around,
Her wishes to see him leave her astounded.
That’s the perfect definition of a lady in love.
It’s unbelievable, but I haven’t felt this kind of emotion before. I’ve had crushes, but they never went beyond that stage — no deep feelings. I wrote about my childhood crush.
Have you dated before?
Funnily enough, I have, but my ex-boyfriend was more a result of following the crowd, or peer pressure, you could say. In college, almost everybody had a partner. All my friends in the hostel had partners, and it felt like I was the only one without one. So when a friend’s cousin showed interest, I opted in, even though he wasn’t my type. But it didn’t last, because I wasn’t feeling it.
Why don’t you feel the spark?
I’m just stating the possibilities of not feeling the spark.
Fear: Fear of falling in love, what if he falls out of love for me. Fear of heartbreak.
Doubt: What if he cheats on me? Will I be able to trust him?
Right person: I think if you haven’t found the right partner yet, the feelings you have for others might be lust or infatuation. You will feel the real emotion of love when you find “the one.”
What makes your heart glow?
Music: I love music so much that my partner’s pet name would be music.
Nature: I can’t stop staring at the sky sometimes; it enchants me. I love rain; it makes me behave like a baby. I love everything about nature. Don’t let me start talking about flowers — they made me fall in love with nature photography.
Wildlife: I’m the only person in my family who loves to watch animal documentaries. My favorite animal is the courageous and daring honey badger.
Does not falling in love mean you don’t have self-love?
I’m so in love with myself. My favorite features are my smile, my rosy cheeks, and my long legs. I wanted to be a model but woke up to reality. I have beautiful eyes too, but I don’t like making eye contact. So no, I am very much in love with myself.
Does love exist?
Definitely, love does exist. I told someone that it is hidden in the depths of your heart and can be awakened whenever you’re ready.
