In a way, I feel like I’m the least qualified person to write about myself — I always dreaded doing it. Even my social media profiles have always been simplistic and sparse.
How can anyone condense over thirty years into a short story? How do you sift through what’s important or interesting enough? I admit I fear sounding mundane and babbling on about personal details.
But it is a welcome challenge — and after some thinking, I discovered there is a focal point in my story I am eager to share — the moment the pieces of my life fell into place.
But first I need to share with you how the pieces fell apart.
I grew up in a seaside town in Greece. An untroubled childhood close to nature. Despite being extremely undisciplined throughout my school years, I was fortunate enough to encounter teachers who inspired me and helped me do well just in time for High School.
More than well actually — I managed to score high enough on national exams to enter Medical School and become a doctor.
