About Me — Pedro B. Gorman
Not As Much of a Cynic as I Pretend to Be
Hello My Dears,
The name is Pedro B. Gorman. Half of me is Portuguese; the other half, Australian. I identify more with the latter, despite currently living in Portugal.
Proceeding by elimination — and because I like to be quirky — I will first tell you who I am NOT: I am not an ambitious over-achiever, (though nothing against those who are), nor have I made bucket loads of money (but have spent like I had bucket loads, often on sketchy stuff). I am also lacking in the 1.5 children (although a statistical average, exactly how one produces 0.5 of a child has always confounded me); nor have I always been sure of what I wanted to do in… well, Life.
I am enjoying success in the process of changing my life around; of discovering new talents, abilities, and a degree of freshness.
What I am is a survivor and a late bloomer: surviving the war with myself, I came out the other side, uhmm… wiser — though not as wise as I would sometimes like — and more emotionally resilient than springy turf. All tribulations considered, were I to have a spiritual name, it might be something akin to “Second Wind.”
Four years into my fourth decade, I have put most of my ghosts to rest; (crippling insecurity, self-loathing…
