About Me — Peter Christian
My life has certainly been interesting.
I grew up in New York City. Glendale, Queens to be exact. I thought it was the greatest place in the world and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
After graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, I studied at Rutgers University, the state university of New Jersey. It was a great place to study and make friends.
It started off slowly for me, because Rutgers is a suitcase college.
So many Jersey kids go home on the weekends. And being from New York I was a bit of a stranger in a strange land as only about 5% of students aren’t from NJ. But, in my junior year I joined a frat and in senior year I met the love of my life, Sharon, so even weekends were busy. I graduated in 1975, summa cum laude with a BS in Industrial Engineering.
While I wanted to stay and do my graduate studies there, my department head, Prof. Kuebler recommended I study elsewhere to get an additional perspective. While I was accepted at Penn State with a full ride, I decided on Lehigh University in Bethlehem PA, on a full scholarship and teaching assistance ship. Little did I know that I would spend the next 40 years of my life in the Greater Lehigh Valley.
