I’ve followed a course of curiosity through my early life, later career and recent spell of what I’m calling ‘semi-retirement’. Curious or just plain nosey? Guilty as charged.

It’s those new people I meet that bring me to life.

Who are they? How come we’re on the same bus today? Can I make them chuckle, then ask a leading question to draw out their back story? What do they find difficult? Do they have a genius nugget of advice? Do they have a backstory jam-packed with lessons and surprises? Where’s their grey area? Where do they deviate from the stereotypes?

I breathe it all in. I let it infuse in my mind. I speak their truth and represent their grey area wherever others might rush to centrifuge out…
