About Me — Pooja Rane
Just 0.1% of who I am. I am still exploring.
Bio
Hello Medium fellas! Nice to virtually meet you. I am an Asian woman in my late 20s (still not 30) working in Tech Sales, living with my husband in the US (Dallas, TX) — I am happy to connect if you live around.
When I am in my artistic space, I create digital portraits for family, friends, and strangers. Fun fact — I was never good at drawing in school; the only thing I managed to do during school was to draw stick figures and doodle on the back of my book — which finally led me to draw on my IPAD lately.
I am also a Fitness Enthusiast. Losing 20 pounds has been one of my greatest achievements, so LIFE for me is staying healthy, happy, and creative.
Things you should know about me
1. When I was 10 years old, I started teaching in a room where there was no one. I explained simple concepts, only imagining that there were kids in the room. To date, I have a passion for teaching.
2.I met my husband in the same company where I interned and got married when I was 24 — I am glad I made that decision.
3.I am a strong believer in “Smile therapy.” There is nothing greater in life than seeing someone smile.
4. I was named after a Bollywood actress — Pooja Batra
5. I came to the US in 2015 to pursue my Master’s with 100$ in my pocket, not knowing what life would be like in an unknown country.
6.My favorite shows include Friends, Atypical, Schitt’s Creek, and documentaries about Life in general.
7.I have never watched popular shows like Office, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones.
8.I have been a semi-classical dancer since the age of 8.
9. My energy is contagious, it’s like speech therapy where people enjoy talking and sharing their thoughts with me. If you ever feel low, you know where to find me.
10.I found a new love for coffee when I moved to the US. I often visit a new coffee place over the weekends to try different coffee, work and simply connect.
11. I love eating momos and Indian food. I found my love for Indian food only after moving to the US. Definitely do not take food for granted.
12.I am very influenced by my grandmother’s upbringing and principles. While my parents were bringing food to our family, I looked up to my grandma. She is no more, but when I am low in life or don’t have the motivation to work, I simply look at her picture.
13.I am the youngest and the first woman to join the Sales organization in the company.
14.I am on Medium to achieve milestones that I wouldn’t get in my regular day job. I am here to connect with every human.
15.I also run a small business creating digital portraits — another way to spread happiness and joy.
If you’d like to stay in touch, I am also available on LinkedIn.
